Jamal Whiting Said:
I think its better to have it notarized, whether you must do it or not.
Better safe than sorry
Chad Nottingham Said:
I would advise it. That way there isn’t any way for either party of the contract to say something that isn’t true.
Kaliyah Milne Said:
It depends on the type of contract. In the case of real estate contracts, it usually isn’t notarized, but may be notarized at the close of escrow during final signing.
Usually it is better to to have a contract notarized to avoid possibility of durress (when one party unwillingly signs).
Arielle Dear Said:
It really depends upon what the contract is for and what jurisdiction it is in. Some just need to be signed, some need witnesses and/or notaries as well. Some oral contracts are enforceable, some are not.
As a rule, all contracts I draft have spaces for two wtinesses and a notary to sign, even if the not required by the law in my state (Florida). The reason for this is that laws in other states and especially other countires differ greatly, and sometimes the contracts could be enforced out side of my state. What I do is over-kill, but I’ve never had a problem with a contract not being enforceable due to problems with its execution.

No the great majority of contract do not have to be notorized. It depends on buiness practice if you want to put it in or not,
