Jane austin, she invented the modern novel. She’s a little cynical though, don;t know if you like corny romance.

Kresley Cole has some good ones. She also has a supernatural kind of series that’s pretty awesome.

Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series is also really good.

I think Ann Rinaldi might have written some like that..
she writes historical fiction.
