try steven speilberg who writes fantasic sc-fi books like jurassic park, star trek and so on… i guess u might have seen but reading is something different. Robert ludlum again another one who writes sc-fi war books.
Nora Roberts doesn’t really write either of those….
Well if you like vampires there’s the Twilight series. (Can’t remember the author).
Anne Rice writes about vampires.
If you like fantasy that’s more with dragons, magic, knights, etc in them these are some good authors:
Robert Jordan
Terry Goodkind
Terry Pratchett
EDIT:
Pretty sure Spielberg only makes movies.
Michael Crichton wrote Jurassic Park
And I’m pretty sure Star Trek books are written by a lot of different people.
That’s all I can think of right now.

Orson Scott Card. The Ender’s Game/Ender’s Shadow series are really good. He has some other books too but those were the ones I was best able to get into. Also The Worthing Saga.
There’s also a book of short stories called You Bet Your Planet. It’s pretty good and fairly funny sci-fi stories written by a variety of authors.

The two classic SF writers for me are: Stanislaw Lem & Philip K. Dick.
Lem’s classic is “Solaris”, while P.K. Dick is best known for “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” Both these books have been made into feature films; Lem’s on 2 occasions by Tarkovsky in the late 60s and by Soderbergh in the early 21st century (The latter is the better version). You know Dick’s work as Ridley Scott’s “Blade Runner”. Although only a small portion of the book was used for the film.
Stanislaw Lem:
Philip K. Dick:

I have answered this question so many times, I decided to dedicate a web site to answer this question. Here it is:
Included is a list of only the best sorcery fantasy books, grade reading level, a short review of each book along with a brief summary of adult content. There is also a “Readers’ Choice” list of favorite books, and a list of heroine sorcery fantasy books, plus a brand-new original fan fiction.
