Flannery O’Connor wrote EVerything That Rises Must Converge. She was a genius at using everyday situations to point out human weakness and morality issues. In this story, we have what starts out as a simple bus trip for mother and son. The problem starts when a black mother and son board the same bus. The larger idea in the story is the bigotry of the mother and what happens to her when she lets her emotions boil over the top. Pax- C
